Anyone ever have issues designing at 50% final printing size to save on system bog? I'm printing on full color vinyl 9'x3' if it helps.

we usually design at 50% size or even less than that depending on how big the final art will be.
no issues though.........

Good to hear, thanks. Any other words of wisdom regarding color, resolution, bleed, etc ...

if its vinyl output, shouldnt be a problem. working at partial size for vinyl output is common – save that you provide 100% photos/images that may be required.

hmmmmm, regarding bleeds, we usually go by whateverr template the billboard companies give us, but our smaller banners are printed here in-house and don't have bleeds, so if your printer has any specs, I'd go by those.
we usually scale up our resolution when we cut file size to compensate, but you can base that off of how close you think the viewing distance will be to your art.
You may want to keep a decent res with a 9x3 banner, once again, if your printer has printed large format before, they can give you at least a base res to go by, and you can bump it up as needed. And color is all up to you........
