Hi, i kind of have a problem with the colors in illustrator. like when the file is in certain patone color, the color looks fine when i am using a laptop.
but when i try to open it up in a desktop the color looks faded.
i've checked the color seetings in illy on both laptop and desktop and they are the same.
anyone has any ideas how to solve this?
btw, before i open it up on the desktop, in the OPEN preview area the color looks right. but when opened, the color fades.
HELP PLEASE~~~~!!!

If you're using specific Pantone swatches for an image, you should be looking at the real life color guide to judge how it will end up when printed.
If you're just trying to get it to look better on your monitor, play with Views>Proof Setup or View>Proof Colors .. or even convert it to RGB?

In the dropdown menu (arrow button) of the swatches palette you can change how illustrator determines spot colors, either by LAB colors or by CMYK equivalents. Check it out. Also, it could simply be a matter of an badly calibrated monitor profile for the desktop monitor. Is it CRT? It can be tricky to match colors between LCD and CRT...

as adriandd said
plus you'll never get accurate color on a laptop.
so, calibrate your monitor!

nothing to do with the pantone values.. just sounds like the calibration on one or both of your displays is whack.
