- jaylarson0

BBC is pretty good.

I don't trust the news in the USA at all. I want the news to be reported, not be subject to various peoples views and opinions.

BBC is pretty good.

(Feb 9 07, 16:11)I second that.
- emokid0
news is always a matter of opinion

Someone's got to tell the story at some point. History is a collection of point-of-views. Good luck finding anything 100% honest.

(Feb 9 07, 16:27)i like the fact that they (bbc radio anyway) generally just report shit, ya know?
american news gets annoying with the endless personal coments, emotion, and editorial bullshit...

(Feb 9 07, 16:27)Very true. Sadly, I don't expect 100% honesty anymore from major outlets. Seems like we're settling for news that rivals "Inside Edition" for journalistic content lately.
I don't mean to be rude, but Anna Nicole Smith has gotten more press out of dying (for doing nothing while on this planet) than Gerald Ford got.
I can see it now - HEADLINE
Anna Nicole Smith to lay in state at the US Capitol Building.
(Don't mean to crack on ANS, just fed up with the Celebrity is international news bullshit)
- digitalswarm0
The ANS frenzy is about ratings. People want to hear all about her and the story, so if CNN, for instance, sticks with the "real" news, peeps are going to find ANS info on other sites.
They have to cater to the peeps.

However there is the additional intrigue surrounding the ANS story considering her son's recent death and the paternity questions in regards to her daughter. Does make for an interesting story.
That said, I agree the coverage is kind of ridiculous.
- Drno0
Is ANS death more important then a 1000 irakians + US soldier death a week
ask CNN

NPR, people. NPR.
Television news networks are nothing but reality television shows.

CNN is one of the participants in the war. I have a fantasy where Ted Turner is elected president but refuses because he doesn't want to give up power.
