what do you guys base your rates on, i mean there must be like an average going rate or something, anyone know? or maybe just how much you charge? per hour, flat rate? i need some advice

$50-100/hr id say though. then multiply that by whatever for daily.

Also depends on if you're just doing the design of the site or building as well. Flash or html? There are a lot of things that go into the price.

Are you full-time freelance? How much do you need to live on? Then consider work expenses, insurance, retirement, SS, Medicare tax. I just realized how high tax on freelance income is. I used to write so much off I never really noticed.
As far as flat/per hour. I recently shifted to work for a flat amount with a loose estimate. I try to come in a bit lower than the estimate and think of it in terms of a range of hours it may take. If it is on the long end of the range it still needs to be an acceptable hourly amount.
