the locks malfunctioned during that video shoot and the guys were stuck in those cells for pretty much the whole day.
*metal education supported in part by a teenaged knack for shoplifting circus magazine.

I know some people who are bringing back Rock Scene mag, believe it or not...even though that's more 70's than 80's..
- TheBlueOne0
You know that was a real scene..before the internet..82, 83. 84..i remember trading tapes with cats in Japan, Peru, Germany..it was crazy...all the photocopied 'zines..
Weird as I found a whole bunch of that stuff in my folks attic last weel...Metal Forces mag, old Kerrang!..crazy shit..good times..that period before metal really went mainstream in the mid 80's in the States was the best..
*realizes I have just totally dated myself...again.

it's funny, during that time I was listening to metal as much as I was listening to rap.

(Feb 6 07, 07:57)I don't think that's funny at all..at that time both metal and rap were "underground" and had alot of similarities...all the metalheads I knew had Public Enemy, RunDMC and Eric B and Rakim jams in the car..still some of the best hiphop ever made..you could dance to it, it was hardcore (for the time) and had a message..
metal was outsider music at the time..kids today don't realize it with the success of metallica and all this shit..
I remember trading metallica demos back in 80, 81..and going to sneak out of my parents house to see them in some dive bar in Yonkers NY with Dave Mustaine..jesus...
You couldn't buy metal cred at the local Hot Topic store..
Metal died for me years ago...all this new stuff with the death metal growl vocals is silly...

i remember the fellas in my neighborhood would ride our bikes to each other's houses and geek out on headbangers ball and yo mtv raps
