Yeah, you just have to have it off during take off. They have a whole pre flight speech for this.

It has to be off on take-off and off on landings but in between you can rock out with your cock out.
They say you can turn anything on (laptop, iPod, games) as long as they don't send out any data. But on the flight back from Jamaica earlier in the year me and a buddy challenged each other via PSP MLB06 from 20 rows away. No one said anything and correct me if I'm wrong, but we were sending and receiving data via the PSP the whole trip and nothing happened.

was the flight back bumpy?if so, it was probably the pilots trying to avoid big poppys bat that kept popping up on radar

they're allowed on airplanes, but unless you got some noise-canceling headphones i wouldn't bother cuz the planes are so damn loud you can't enjoy the music otherwise.
