i always say, don't buy things you can't pay for. so even though, i use my creditcard, i pay everything off every month. 18.9% interest is ridiculous. i mean, can you imagine how much your invest will gain if you are getting that kind of gain?
you need to consolidate all your debt and make a plan. interest is killing you.

let me introduce you to rate whoreing...go to www.moneysavingexpert.com and look up the longest 0% on balance transfers on a credit card, check out the maximum amount (should be more than the total you have on the cards)...assuming you have a decent credit rating, apply for that card and transfer your balances to it.
cut up the other cards and tell them to close the accounts. set a reminder in outlook, on yr phone, or the fridge etc... for the date when the 0% ends. a few weeks in advance to that do the same again and looks for the best 0% on balance transfers for as long as possible and get the card, transfer the balance. Try to pay the most you can afford without stretching yrself - give yrself a buffer incase the car breaks etc
now this wont reduce the amount you owe but it will stop you paying interest on it. its completely legal and doesnt harm yr C rating.
check it out on the website link i gave

is bankrupcy 5 years before you can even get credit again?
UndoUndonah its a year! there's loads of loopholes in the law nowadays.
...A total nob head I used to know fucked over a lot of people, ran up stupid amount of debt, then just wiped it clear (bankrupcy), layed low for a year, and is back on his feet now!

sounds like my 1st boss
s... in fact a lot of my debt stems from that fucker suddenly sacking me owing me around a grand... me finding out that he had never paid tax or national insurance for me, although he deducted it, the bank refusing to stop taking loan repayments off of me although i had insurance (all because the fucker wouldn't fill in a form to say why he had sacked me)...in the end i ended up squatting in my girlfriends student flat (when they went on holiday i had to hide in the wardrobe from the landlord) and working at toys r us...
i took the guy to tribunal... won... but he fucked of to Cyprus and never paid me a penny....

£30,000 is a lot of money pal.
If your not paying your student loan you must be on less than 15k, which means your gonna have one hell of a sore arse pretty soon.
Pick up pennies on the street.
Good Luck Pal.

remember this girl?
http://www.savekaryn.com/you can re-invent the wheel and do something similar.
i saw her on a tv show recently getting interviewed. she's a pretty hardcore idiot, i thought. if she can get rid of her debt, you can too.

got to say now i think about it, its not too bad, i'm sure i'm not the only one with this kind of debt, go on, add all yours up, i bet its more than you think... and you are right i have made nearly 20K on my house in less than a year... im just worried about the interest rises for when my fixed rate expires...

*looks in wallet, no credit cards, smiles
*looks at bank website info, smiles again.
what's with people buying all this stuff they can't afford but "need"?
i thought of taking out a loan last TG and my grandpa reamed me, he said if i wanted it, i'd earn it, so i buckled down got the gigs, worked them and now own all the stuff i wanted for the studio and took a vacation. all without paying any interest.
i recently told my brother to broker his own deals and i would do them for "free to him" so the money i earn will pay off his car, just 7k, i should clear that in 2 months if he tries hard enough.
