AI crashing..

This started happening to me last week.. After making ajustments on a AI10 file for a few hours (and saving every 10-15 mins) When I closed the file at the end of the day I got a message that says "Acrobat PDF file format is having difficulties. There was a Macintosh system error (-37)". Then illustrator crashes. When I re-open the file it has reverted back quite a bit. UHH.. what? Anyone had this happen?

I also got this tip from someone;
Open Illy, close Appearance palette. Quit Illy, then restart the app. You can turn the Appearance palette back on but if it happens again, you'll have to go through the process. Mine kept crashing whenever I used the Pathfinder tool.

do you use a plug in called "CADTools"?? this causes a lot of crashing.
do you tend to copy paste a lot? or do you "apple + ~" [swtch btwn pages] this also causes illy to just quit.
fonts always check your fonts...illy crashes with fonts.
save every 2-5 minutes instead of every 10-15.
restart your puter, erase illy system prefs, then go find a church and pray!!!

I am doing quite a bit of copying and pasting for what I am working on.. as well as using apple ~ to flip on a consistant basis.

have you had your photoshop give you this error "Could not save. Try closing some files and then try re-saving" or some shit like that?! i have had that happen 5 times in the past week. not only did i only have ONE fucking file open when it gives me that error, I try and save to a different location or just try and save again, and photoshop will then unexpectedly quit and completely eliminate the file i was working on!!! it's awesome! you go into the folder where the file was...it's there for a hot second...then poof. gone!
