Hey guys,
I'm not vat registered, but I was asked for an invoice for a work I did...so what can I do? anyone got any good template for invoice?
any suggestions would be very appreciated
sorry for this post but i'm just a beginner :P

firstly you don't have to be VAT registered, it's only worth it if you are buying alot of stuff or if your income or Gross Profit is something like £70,000 +.
Don't quote me on that though, I'm sure someone will correct me.As far as the invoice temp goes. Just design some headed paper(if you don't already have some) and put:
• To (their name and address)
• Your Ref (their PO number if they want you to add one)
• Discription of work completed
• Rate
• Total• Pament details if they request it
Doesn't have to be anything special just a doc of the work done and the cost.

If you're not VAT registered, your invoice is essentially just a quantified list of services and relevant charges. You should include invoice date, a unique reference (or job number + date etc) and provide a totals column.
Looking at what I've just written, I'm sure I'm telling you nothing you don't already know, so here's a link to an old one (for a VAT reg'd company, so just ignore the VAT total section).

I should be ashamed - I think I must've done that in an anti-alignment rage. Subsequent versions are better, but have details on that I don't wish to share.

They provide you with a PO number, ask them if they have one for you to put on the invoice.
You have an Invoice Number which is merely your reference so you can check they have paid , etc..
