on my mac at home, and my mac at work, just wont work, not even after effects 7 demo.
ive been searching online for a while for what it could be, and dont find any help.
it basicly crashes once it finishes loadign up, it crashes right away then.
so, i figure, and also read online that it could be a conflict with other software on my machine, the thing is i dont know what software it could be.
after effects works in all the other computers at my office, eccept on both of mine.
any one has gone through this problem? has any one fixed it?
thank you very much, and please avoid telling me that it is because it is cracked. its not.

Seen this before and it is probably due to a bad/dodgy codec. Remove all third partry components from MacHD>Library>Quicktime folder and try again, then if it works put them back one or two at a time and try relaunching until you find the culprit

It might be OpenGL, I had the same problem and my workaround was taking out the OpenGL3D plugin in Support Files>Plug-ins>StandardExtension...
Take that file out of that folder and put it on your desktop. Restart AE. Seeif it works. I know you wont be utilizing OpenGL but it seemed to work fine for me.

thanks a lot, i had tried the open gl thing before but it wasnt that, and just did the removing of the quicktime components and now after effeects launches.
what was causing the crash was the FLV.Component., the flash video exporter, so thanks a lot, now it works after like months of not being able to use it on my machine.
thanks.

Is there an flv importer for AE?
