tomato; tamato
looks like they are mixing signage up a bit, using two types all over the city
eh?

Thanks skelly, for the corroboration. Tho I still believe Basic Commercial is closer to the original Standard Series.

while your all in here having a barrel of laughs debating the in's and out's, tails and crapolas of type i want to add the following public voice broadcast...
Typographica
i love your posts. you offer some of the best information and guidance of anyone on here.
i love your superman like arrivals when people send out their type sos.
i love your seemingly endless joy of type and the special nuggets of information you hold deep inside.
i love that your name is Typographica.
i love fontshop.
i wish you would do more blogs/newsletters about featured type, type in use and popular type. its the thing that makes me buy fonts from you most.
its all so interesting and keeps me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
i want your babies typographica...
anyways... enough bum churning love for now.
as you were people.

I went to a Massimo Vignelli lecture years ago and I remember him saying distinctly that they used Akzidenz
- Typographica0
That's what he was told is closest. (Massimo is brilliant, but he isn't exactly an expert in available digital type.) They used Standard.
