This might be like some entry level shit, but I need to make the very first page in Indesign a spread. I cannot figure out how to do this. Should I just insert a blank page? I dont want to eff with the printer, but I cannot solve this problem on my own.
Thanks for your help!

after you have made your document. press F12 for pages. then drag pages till you have a spread. follow?

For some reason (maybe a setting I dont know about) it always knocks the first page down and creates a blank page!

also, make sure spreads is checked in document setup

It is checked indeed! Oh no!

don't you mean "Facing Pages"?

yeah you need to just insert a blank page and tell them not to print it. that's what i do anyways.

Nice. thanks. Will do!

blank page 1.
you can setup auto page numbering to start on any page.
and if you PDF final file you can delete page 1 in acrobat.

your computer can delete stuff? wow...

new documernt - 3pages -
with facing pages checked.pages palette - select the facing pages (page2 and 3) and in the pages palette selct "keep pages together"
selct page 1 and delete
and there you have it a double page spread
