I'm trying to make plans from California. I will be in New York on New Years.

nye in nyc is for tourists = rat trap!!!

i suggest you totally stay away from times square, too many cops and too many tourists.
maybe plan aa day trip to the Planetarium and get some Beavis and Butthead Acid blotter and chew on that and watch the stars.
or go and grab some steak at one of our many steak houses so when you start chugging down beers you will have something tasty to munch on when it comes back up.
oh yeh Lazer Tag in Times Square, a NYE must.
the weather has been un believeably warm for the time of year so maybe its getting hotter so bring a bathing suit and jump into the East River for a quick skin shed and then goto some dinner and ask for them to costum something.

how much cash you got?? maybe get a hotel room and invite us NYC NTers to a nice drink off drug dropping party!!!!do it!!! or goto a nudie bar and tell em its your bday.

i don't think it's that you don't want to be here at all, it's just that NYE is so much hype. To go out anywhere is ridiculously expensive. I would try to find somewhere to have a nice meal and get trashed with your friends either in your hotel room or their apt.
But going out is a big big hassle and overrated.

oh thats true in nYC NYE can be real stupid pricey and lots of places have dumb dress codes and you need to purchase dinner tickets...
nyc is expensive as it is but on NYE its better to either just chill with yoiur friends in some apt or someplace safe and party that way.

i absolutely love ny. but nye is a bit of a downer now.

i think you'd be better off spending money on good food, and avoid spending on drinks. most of bars will charge like $100-300 to get in. then you get really shitty drinks and impossible to move around and get more drinks.
pick a good fun restaurant then have a great meal with your friends so they will bring drinks and you have a place to sit. then maybe after like 1am, go out to bars.
start making a reservation now!

it's not jaded new yorkers... i lived there 6 years ago and i'd still NEVER go to nye in nyc.... and i'm in ohio for fuck's sake!

you can go back to cali with nt drinks pics and you can watch dinky and tk pee on each other when the ball drops!!!
