Still, I'm proud of my teeth now.

Nevertheless when I sat up after the procedure was complete my tee was stuck to the chair and my hands were cramping from gripping the armrests.

Chop-suey,
Here's the real deal. Make sure you go to a specialist who only deals in root canals, not a general dentist. I just had one with a specialist, and he said 75% of his business is re-doing gen. dentisits shitty jobs. So that's #1.
If you do that, it's a breeze. They're pros. Surgery took 1.25 hours, and I only took 1 anti-inflammatory pill- no pain killers needed. I didn't even fill the prescription. You just can't eat on that side of your mouth for a few days.
I think the horror stories are from people who went to gen. dentists and not specialists. And trust me, there is 1 in your network!

I'm with Soler. I went to a specialist and it was cake. No pain, other than hearing them talk about Tom and Katie, and no swelling.

i felt it when i got the bill of the total with filling.
275 euros. auch.

Soler is right on the money.
we was just telling all the stories we heard b4 going in.
Goto an Oral Surgen who specializes in Root Canals...and it should be no problem and very minimal swelling and should be quite painless when its done.

you know, it is true what they say about Belgium health care, it is cheaper and usually better.
Here in NL it costed me well over 400 bucks and during the weekend after i had a huge pain at one point. i had to visit another dentist who was on weekend shift to correct it.
appeared my dentist had forgotten a piece of nerve deep at the bottom and it was sort of swinging around in some hollow part, which made me feel terrible pains all the time, esp. when i moved.
i did not want to tell this earlier to scare you, but yeah, now i did, you have to take it as a warning. just so you know that it is a very hard thing to do for regular dentists and mistakes are easily made.

my root canal wasnt covered by my insurance...it was over $1000.
