get an axiom 49 and we can hold hands play them together
- fr0st0
after u get the midi controller what program are u using to mix it all?
- 3RR0R_4040
im planning to use Reason and Logic Express
- ********0
only gonna say one more time.... The Korg.
It syncs up with Reason.
- 3RR0R_4040
yeah, im leaning a lot more towards the Korg.
are the pads on Korg pressure and velocity sensitive?

I was using logic for a while, then cubase, then back to logic (now apple) then my friend introduced me to ableton..
that's it for me.
you can buy orignal copy on ebay at discount price, is amazing.
most intuitive gui of any application I have ever used (not just for make music), many top video editing apps including avid and final cut should learn from ableton and their zoom in - out of timeline.
worth every penny and more
- Meeklo0
that korg is nice.
is there a way to set the pads for one channel and the rest for another?like if I wanted to use a drum vsti on one and a synth on the other..
- M0NEYCIDE0
yes Live rules, the axiom is geared for it...but yeah the korg looks slick
- 3RR0R_4040
i will be using Live too.. and yes it rocks.. makes my ibook a little slow tho :(
- Meeklo0
live 6 does not eat up as much cpu as 5..
like 30% less
- blackspade0
yes Meeklo as far as I know you can do what you like with the pads
the Korg librarian software for setting up "scenes" for your midi controls isnt all that intuitive tho either to be honest.
Its Logic for me. Ableton is cool and all, but I prefer Logic.

also, prob the wrong forum to get a good varied opinion
have you posted on Audio/production forums as well? say you'd get much more specific feedback.
theres some great reviews out there for the Korgs as well
- 3RR0R_4040
any forums that u might suggest, blackspade?

did you guys take any classes for this stuff or just figure it out on your own? i have most of the equipment i need, and made some ok-sounding music, but i feel like i'm running in the dark figuring it all out.
any book recommendations?
