Okay I am trying to figure out how to get one animation to talk to another. eg. first swf file reaches a certain point in the timeline, then the 2nd swf starts.
anyone have a tutorial for this, I keep finding things on passing text back and forth.

if you can pull off the text back and forth
a cheap way to do what you need is to pass a var instead of text
have 2 frames setup in the receiving swf ... one to check for the existence of the var...and the other to bounce back to the frame that checks for the var ... if it finds the var, just bounce to the 3rd frame (where the animation is)
cheap but it will work

Yeah, that's what I have ended up doing. :S

the only other way you could do it which would be more elegant (not sure if this will work or not because i haven't worked with local connections in a long time)
is create a reference object that stores the swf you are calling ... maybe you could pass methods directly to it
like refSWFObject.gotoAndPlay("tada...
that would be dope if it worked

Yeah, I set it up so that when swf 1 reached a certain point it passed the word 'run' onto swf 2. When swf 2 received the word 'run' it started.
Seems kinda ghetto, but i'm not really a programmer, maybe i will figure out how to do it properly when I have more time :)
