yeah, him taking his pants off, a very bad sign.
this isn't good. if anything they need to find him very soon.

Someone told me about this story and I didn't think much of it until this thread. Hope they find him really soon...

he had an extra pair of pants with him. and his wife said that he was wearing his jeans when he left. the pair found wasn't the jeans he was wearing. they think that he left it there as a marker so he won't get lost on his way back. i really hope that's the case.

they found something else that belonged to him. they won't say what it is but it looks like he's leaving trail markers to get back. they're lowering people down into canyons from a helicopter to look for him. they think that they're really close.

"Authorities searching the southwest Oregon wilderness for CNET editor James Kim said they believe they are close to finding the missing man, who has been stranded in a remote area for 10 days."
10 days?!?!
my best to the family :(

I can't believe they were stranded for so long
- tkmeister0
yeah, this is very frustrating.
i mean, the searchers are on snowmobile and also on foot fully equipped. can he move that fast that quick?

man i hope he didn't jump into the river

they should mark those roads better on the map as "CLOSED IN WINTER". My first year in the Pacific NW I just got lost trying to go around Mt St Helens to reach Crystal Mt. It looked like the fastest route on the map until I reached the road closed sign and had to turn around. Good thing the Pathfinder had 4x4 or I might have been in the same predicament.

that's really sad if someone is dead. I was once lost in Canada with a group of Canadian Geologist guys from Alberta. We were in Ontario.
NOT FUN!
