what mean you by 'ambient'?
My friends say that my music is 'ambient' or 'elevator muzak' in that it disappears into the background (I get miffed with the latter description, but hey)
Anyway, generally, music on the Leaf label, such as Susumu Yokota, Colleen & Murcof would probably qualify, then there's also Múm and Bibio from ..er.. different labels.

Are you mad? I mean, I was genuinely considering mentioning Aphex Twin beforehand because, yes, some tracks are indeed quite ambient... but really, not absolutely.
I mean, can you imagine some tranquil soul, unaware of the harsh aural vistas of Autechre et al, sitting down to listen to Confield??? :)
