wouldn't the multiply blend mode affect the PMS depending on what is under it?

Select your item and go to Window > Transparency
Once in the palette, change the "normal" tab to "multiply", (just like photoshop).
Be wary... if you're doing this for print, make sure your transparency flattener preset is at "high resolution" (under the edit menu > transparency flattener preset)
good luck.

thanks Gucci. Could you point me tyo the right menu? I am on the road right now. Sorry, and of course, MANY THANKS!

you have to apply the "multiply" layer effect to it
yes. that's one thing illustrator needs to fix. yesterday.

if you are going to print with spot colors fading to nothing you should do a google search for .dsc files and get used to working with them.

illy don't do that. wish it could!

pretty sure you have to create an opacity mask. and from that point on, it starts to get confusing to me if you want to actually do anything with the file. becuase i think you're forced to "flatten" that layer eventually if you take it into PS or print it, etc. and that stinks. :(

Hi all:
I have an Illy gradient as part of a logo. On one part, I have a pms fading to white. But, I do not want white there. i want nothing - no color at all. Just the PMS fading. Anyone know how to take care of that?
