I've heard the Wii costs Nintendo in the neighbourhood of $90-$100 to manufacture...

yep, that should be about it considering that it's a slightly higher clocked gamecube (hence the backwards compatability).

I just got the xbox360 this weekend, and i'm very satisfied with the games. Gears of War is awesome, but definetly not for kids. There's a scene where you see dead skinned corpses hanging from the ceiling. Haven't tried the wii yet, but people are getting addicted to it. Here's a good summary on the different systems:

tthe wii is definitely family friendly and a heck of a lot of fun for everyone. over the Thanksgiving had a great time playing it with my mom cousins uncle aunt and niece. ages 3 to 60. the wii is a hit. buy the wii dude.

just a heads up that liven with a fella who has a 360 - every game so far has had glitches, and the xbox live "sign in" system that keeps popping up is bloody annoying.
though gears of war is A+. incredible stuff.
