seriously. design counts more when they are paying. when its for free, the design effort is meaningless. and the revisions are countless. :/

i would never work for Bono. that's all i can say.

with you. fuck that noise

seriously, i have worked pro bono 2-3 times: if you let it go over 1 week, then it's not cool anymore.
in my experience, 1 week is the duration of pro bono enthusiasm.

it's alright if you really feel you've done good and your services are appreciated.
more often than not you get stepped on........ and come upon the realization that the person running the operation makes more money than you'll ever see.

there comes a time

yea, if you get enough room to pull out the stuff you enjoy (aesthetically speaking), then it's not so bad in the end.

" 1 week is the duration of pro bono enthusiasm. "
awesome, very true and thanks.
the design work is been way done. revisions are still trickling in. and to top it off i get stuck being the middle man for a probono printer.. Pro bono printer guy hates pro bono even more than me.. and i get to explain failed deadlines and try to push it through and make deadline.. epic.
plus to make it an even more bitter pill. one facet of this job was 200 posters. which i screen printed, didnt have to, but it was a nice touch. 200 of the bastards. 4 colors.
800 freakin squeegy pulls. and to top it off, the dude that i thought would appreciate it the most, asked me why i just didnt send out the posters to get printed.. right in the middle of the screen print run.. that muthrfuk took me 7 hours to print..goddamnit, if you read all this, god bless you..

If you are doing it as an obligation its never gonna be fun, if you believe in the cause Im sure it would mean a lot more, if its helping people, it should help you, and most importantly, if you dont like it, dont do it, and then bitch about it, I mean I can understand bitching about clients, but your doing this work for good and complaining about it
- Seff0
its an obligation, dished to my plate
- Sharif0
haha well brother, that fucking sucks, sorry
- Seff0
whan you said it should somehow help me, well i guess it did. was a good excuse to screen print, even though it wasn't acknowlegded like i hoped.

i did a web site for the artist that tattoos me. in exchange he inked me for a day. i'm good friends with the dude, so it was more me doing it for free and getting some work as a bonus.
it's hard to explain... he really appreciated the project and it's proven successful for his business, but i got the vibe that it was in the back of his head that he was working that day for free.
i decided from then on to pay for my tattoos and charge him for any work. it's proven a better way to go.
point is, even the good guys hate working for free.

right on blaw

for what it's worth, those prints look badass. nice job.

.that seems to be the touchstone, especially in pro bono work. maybe you should let them know that.
- Seff0

hell yeah, i would dig that.
that program's cool, too. i'm guessing you did the layout. to the tee, dude... well done.

your design karma is great, now youll get a stupid project with stupid money, and you wont know where it came from, and then youll remember this, good job homey
- thenuge0
WTF are you talking about. if everybody asked me to work for free i'd be broke.
