if you max out your RAM everyting is ok.
but sometimes, the arrow locks up for a few seconds
load up times on illy is slow but once its up its all good.
if you do not max the RAM i suggest you wait til CS3.

i have an imac at work here, 1.5 gigs of ram, and sometimes when i have photoshop and illy open, illy crashes.
and this one time whenever i tried to use the pathfinder tool it would crash. weird stupid problems.

illy crashes when i copy paste or move from one window to the other.

No common crash problems here
sometimes have to force quit Photoshop when normal quit doesnt work
you need a LOT of RAM
I would not recommend BUYING CS2 if you don't have it now.
CS3 will be out in early 2007

(Nov 17 06, 11:10)if you mean the cursor locks up, then it might be because of his option in System Preferences > Mouse and Keyboard > Trackpad: "ignore accidental trackpad input."
basically, it disables the trackpad when you're using the keyboard (hitting hotkeys...)
i disabled it and the frozen cursor problem went away.

I have a macbook pro C2D.
CS2 is quite slow and illy crashes a lot if I have photoshop open at the same time.
CS on the other hand has worked without any problems. no crashes, no speed issues.I personally wouldn't recommend upgrading to Cs2 yet. Wait until CS3 is released.

illy crashes regardless of platform. cs2 is buggy.
i run cs2 on a mac pro 2.66 ghz quad core xeon processors with 3 gigs of ram, and its very fast.
try to get at least 2 gigs of ram and you should be fine.

i also run cs2 on my macbook pro 2 with 2.0 ghz intel c2d and 2 gigs of ram, it runs fine as well. but i prefer the performance of the macpro with the processor increase plus more ram.

i heard CS2.3 runs .3 times better
