I always go to print the file as I would normally but change print settings to pdf etc then save the document as a PS file and drop into Acrobat distiller...hey presto

Think I had this same problem along time ago. In the end It was a font which was having some conflict . The font in question wasent a postcript I think, so i ditched it and replaced it with somthing else. Worked after that.

check your prefs in quark to ensure you're direct to pdf.
Reinstall acrobat if this is still an issue.

I have never exported successfully from Quark. It always crashes. Plus, I do not trust Quark's pdf'ing capability anyhoo. They can't even get their program to not crash, and the refresh rates are pathetic.
Just print that bad boy to a .ps and distill it. More functionality that way, and i feel you are getting a real pdf.

Drag Quark icon to the trash... empty trash... sit back... smile... stand up... walk over to your boss... slap him/her in the head... walk back to your desk quietly muttering INDESIGN INDESIGN INDESIGN over and over and over... continue muttering it til you either get a lovely severance cheque or a nice parcel from Adobe arrives for your attention.
