a while back Extensis had this cool plug in for psd, to create slick and angled dropshadows.
we still use mask pro, but don't/can't just use the clip out as a base for a copied layer and call that a drop shadow. Anyone have any tips on plug ins that can do the magic... in batch (we got a truck load of photos to prep)??
btw I fuckn googl'd it, just get tutorials...

layer effects?
you can save a custom effect style, create an action to apply that syle, then batch...
not sure if that's what you're looking for.

we did a batch using a saved style, but on most you can just tell it has been photoshop'd, poorly. Mostly cuz not every light angle is the same, so a style action will not have much use.
Just looking for a shortcut :P we got 80 plus of these suckers to prep, doing these 1by1... argh...

yeah, uh, layer effect, drop shadow, global light...
it's all in there, right?

you said:
'Mostly cuz not every light angle is the same, so a style action will not have much use.'That sorta means you're outta luck with any automated process that applies an identical effect, yeah?
I'd get crackin' if I was you :)
ps. just the other day i wasted an hour or two trying to find a method of scanning in book images with partially metallic covers. The only way was to do it manually with a camera. It sucks when technology doesn't just throw the answer at you :)

like budhahat said :P
sux when technology does not give the answer.
We initially counted on bypassing this dropshadow thing by having products shot on white bg, thinking to use the natural shadows. And it all looks great until it got drum scanned; it makes white background everything from gray to blue. Once you color correct this, the shadows are toast.
as are we ;)

airey = andromeda is the answer :) thanks! This is much like Extensis used to be.
MaskPro = then this plug in and we're cooking.
