i use this: www.mobilitysite.com/r... [jpg]
i HATE the OS, but the functinality is everyting i want.

(Oct 31 06, 04:59)I've got that one but the British version which doesn't have that wierd thing on top.
I don't know what to hate about the os, it's just a mini version of windows which works fine.
The camera quality is poor though and the gprs / internet browsing speed on mine if shocking.
Other than that though, nice straightforward phone.

Got a friend who has the razr....he reckoned it was a terrible terrible phone - ditched it after a few weeks...

i seem to be the only person in the world who hasn't had any trouble with the razr. it's got bluetooth sends and receives calls with no problem, and doesn't make my pants bulge any more than they should. however, my friend has gone through 6 of them and is now onto an lg.

my friend has the q. the features are pretty nice. but he gets really poor service with it, needs to charge it everyday, and feels cheap. he is going to upgrade to the treo 680 once it comes out.
i have a SE w600i and its ok. the size is the only thing i dont like. im going to look to upgrade to either the w800 or the k790i once the next special edition comes out.

thanks, tk, it would be nice to hear more about video capabilities of this thingy..
- tkmeister0
it uses mini SD and you can get 2gb one to rock your world. i haven't tried that yet. i read that audio quality needs some work. I haven't tried video yet either but from what i have seen, it's very capable device.
i don't think this will replace a video ipod by any mean. it's more like adding a nano ipod to your phone.
i'll try out video/sound and report back to you if you like.

what about the video? will it replace my ipod for daily commute entertainment? with a 1gb sd..?

the browser is very usable. i can check out NT from it. that's somehting, isn't it?
WIFI is excellent. i set up VoIP and i can use gizmo account to make cheap international calls over WLAN.
it's been only a week since i got it but i love this device. it feels soooo solid in my hands with aluminum casing in the back. i love the simple design. it's a mean lean device, my friend.
now E62 is out in US but E61 features is definitely worth extra.

thmeister, is the E61's browser usable, with JS and all?..
That's one of very few phones I am tempted to buy..

The transfer rate for an MP3 on the those SonyErics renders them next to useless.
I just a nokia E50. Looks good, does just the basic stuff.

which of the nokia phones has the mobile webkit browser?
that's what i want, a decent web browser and email...and maybe wifi
- tkmeister0

I know you're not interested in music, and neither am I but every new phone has music capabilities...
You can't find a phone anymore that does the bare minimum without lacking in call clarity, and general aesthetic appeal.
All I really want is text messaging and bleu tooth, yet I have to pay like 400+ for that now.
It's bollocks.
