My Bro is looking at getting the NEW (BLACK) MacBook, can you connect these to a TV so you can watch DVD's or the Mac's Screen?
Also is it any good for audio programmes?

So yes you can but I think the adapter is like $19. And audio is another story. On my iBook I did s-vid out and ran sound through the speakers. I guess you could hook up external speakers though.
Audio programs? Like GarageBand or Soundtrack?

You'll need another s-video cable as the adapter is really short.
I bought a DVI-HDMI cable from Radio Shack ($49) and hooked it up to a Sony HDTV with a spare digital audio cable.
Works great and the picture quality is fantastic.
