Well you could look at the flats built on the site of the Hacienda? ;)
Northern Quarter/Oldham Street is the kinda 'creative' area, and has some great record shops. The Dry Bar is where Shaun Ryder tried shooting Tony WIlson if memory serves.
Afflecks Palace is kinda legendary I guess. Full of little stalls/stands.
Apparently loads of Smith fans have their photo taken outside Salford Lads club - I wouldn't really recommend wandering around Salford all that much mind!!!
Erm, not sure what else - drop me a mail if you wanna know anything specific.

Find Magma on oldham street, Centro on Tibb Street, check out Urbis and head up Deansgate and check out the new Hilton hotel, if you are feeling flash, get there about 5pm and go up to the Cloud 23 bar, it's pretty impressive but expenisive for a beer or two, you get a view of the whole city though. After that, enjoy a cheaper beer across the road at atlas, this was one of the first of many manchester cafe bars. Shop for clothes in urban outfitters, westworld, fred perry and harvey nichols. Spend some time around the triangle, it's completely changed since the IRA bomb. Have a wander in piccadilly records or vinyl exchange, they have plenty of music for your liking. if you are around on a saturday night, go to South or 42nd Street for a club, it's the music you will like. Enjoy yourself. it's a very good place...

Tibb st is quite cool these days, it runs parallel to Oldham St. Retro bar is a decent hang out too.

i'm sure the doddster has pressed the 'broadcast live' button a couple of times before! it's an easy mistake to make...he says frantically hoping he wont press it twice this time!

Awesome guys! Thanks for the help.
Any cultural musts?
Just arrived in Galway after 3 bus rides and this morning I was tossed by a horse in Dingle.

Try checking out Urbis - I have a feeling the exhibition on the manchester bomb has just finished, which is a shame as its a pretty pivotal moment in recent manc history.
i think theres some kind of creative exhibition on at the moment too.
you could always go to the curry mile in rusholme, although you'll get a better curry in the city centre...
