Spotlight

  I have a large collection of work saved on Hard Drive pre my installation of Mac OS X Tiger. How can I get SPOTLIGHT to search this archive of jobs instead of copying it to my comps harddrive?

  Is there anything I need to do to get Spotlight to do this?

  it should do it automatically if the volume is mounted to the desktop

  i have an issue with it spotlighting my backup drive...super duper is supposed to respect my setting but it didn't last night :(

  so yeah, if it doesn't do it automagically, i have never seen a way to force it other than some command line stuff

  It should automatically search all of your HD. Check the spotlight preferences in system preferences that all the catagories are ticked.
