10million US students (facebook)
versus
160+ Million 18-35's worldwide (MySpace)I think myspace already has the monopoly on social networking. and i dont see 'the kids' switching.
people put up with the crap service and advertising just because moving to an alternative means that to stay in touch with all your friends either they all move OR you start using 2 'social networking' sites.

can I stalk you?

Wallop won't work because Flash isn't mature enough to be the basis of a social networking site. It LOOKS slick, but doesn't ACT it.
Facebook is the true antidote to MySpace. Clean functionality and real networking tools that make sense.

i don't get any of these sites. why not just make a blog and post your activities to that?
all the myspace pages i have ever seen are totally lacking in any sort of design aesthetic and just a whole bunch of meaningless dribble.
"stalk me" and "hey sexy where have you been?"
stoopid. pick up the phone and call someone.

I receive an empty "wallop digest" via email

now WALLOPis this not silly all these new sites popping up all the time?!
myspace works and the world is already on it.
and people use msn for chatting 'instantly' to friendswallop does look a bit interesting though in the sense that theyve got a modders network - anyone joined that yet and done something ?

Indeed.
I hate MySpace interface and got bored on Orkut, as the brazilians destroyed it. * i am brazilian btwSo would be cool to have another option.

(Oct 20 06, 03:38)There doesn't need to be a benefit or even an improvement on an existing service if it's "web 2.0" or a "social" site.
