(Oct 19 06, 04:58)And I bet you still made it to work on time right?
Vespa you are, and always have been a legend and I salute you!

When are we having a pint?

last time i was in plymouth i was chased out of a pub by a group of thugs yelling racial abuse and throwing ashtrays. lovely place plymouth.

ahh thanks sodee. why yes i did get to work on time!
and i've done all my work today like a good little cog in the great machine so did these just now.
not as professional as everyone elses efforts but i had fun. the bandaid isn't really working well visually yet but what do you think of the idea? is it too cute? ie not serious enuff for the issue?
the lipstick kiss came from thinking the Mentalist kissing booth could just be that we all go round with donation buckets and leave big lipstick kisses on everyones cheeks, who wouldn't want to pay for that hmmmm?
i'm delirious with lack of sleep! and we're playing in swindon again tonight.

I likes it, it's funtasic and pretty darn playful. It's a one off gig so I don't think we all need to get too stressd about making a viable logo that will stand the test of time and transfer to all mediums.... theres my 4pence worth anyway.

very nice kim, although it looks like the person giving the kiss might have a cold sore or something.
That said I'd still donate money for a kiss from your bass player!
- paraselene0
not a cold sore, baskerville, it's where her ol' man smacked her upside the head, see?

(Oct 19 06, 08:19)maybe he hit her because she was wearing too much makeup, which was hiding the coldsore that she gave him

mike i've sent you the scan of me type

see that's the thing it would be really bad for this to look so fun and lighthearted that people don't understand the seriousness of the issue.
domestic violence is the darkest shittest shit.
- mr_snuggles0
don't fret, we'll solve it, it's just design, not the issue itself...
- soda0
moth, would love to but I'm not in the big smokes much at the moment. I'll bell you when I'm down to see if you, kuz and Para fancy a quick one.
Para, I'm funking about the teeshirt stuff but Mr Hon seems to have it sorted (Honest, great tee's on your site lad by the way)
Vespa you are such a legend!
And I like the design, I reckon it's nearer to the concept of all the ideas so far. Maybe the band aid doesn't quite get the concept over as strongly as it could... I'm thinking about it...
- paraselene0
it is really tough, since we all have pretty dark senses of humour anyway, but there is a fine line and as snuggle says, don't worry, we'll find it and walk it!

Arhhhh i would now like to recall my previous comment regarding a playful logo.....perhaps given the content it should be a little more serious but then we are tackling it by having fun.. damn now I am really confused how to make domestic violence look fun? Oh God KS shut the f up!!!
Keep the designs rolling kids I know you will crack it!
- vespa0
yea that's what we have to solve with the design.
fun fundraiser night for serious issue.
but yay i'm sure we can do it.
- Baskerville0
yeah my mum's a legal counsellor for divorce and separation and she deals with loads of domestic violence cases. Often the couple can't even be seen in the same room because it's too dangerous. It's pretty bad.
But I still agree that the event should be fun and promoted that way, otherwise no one will come.
- paraselene0
yeah, do a fun, playful logo and then vespa in the middle of your set your can pull a bowie at live aid thingmie and like stop the whole show and get down on your knees and pray for all the battered women and everyone will cry and hold one another and then you leap up into a rousing, joyous anthem and we all go 'ahhhhhh' and put some money in the buckets.
:D

new 'campaign image' concepts...
photography by carla van deputtelaar –
http://www.carlavandeputtelaar.c…She shot these and many others for one of our clients, so I have the hi-res images, but would have to ok their usage if we like them...
Personally, I really do, I think they're right for the message and with the right layout and type treatment, they might not be playful, but they will be London-cool...
