is it possible to put a flash banner on this website. The developer behind the site is telling me he doesn't want to change his templates.

what's his reasoning? ask him to tell you why he feels he can't do it, and if he says he can't and has a good reason, then maybe you should listen to him.

(Oct 17 06, 03:24)Yeah, it's hardly rocket science to add a banner to a template like that but if he doesn't want to change the template then it would be difficult.

the header image is being displayed via css in that template - could you not just comment out the image reference and then use swfObject to insert yr swf into the div where the header image used to be?

All these points are valid.
i think he's pissed at not getting the design job for this website and the banner which it links to which we did. We're forced to use him since it's he's on the board with the clients.
he's just being a hard ass. I'm gonna head on over to his house and rip him a new asshole. I'm not gonna be responsible for my actions when I get my friggin hands on him. Somebody call Chris Sabian!

hes using nucleus, which is all template driven. If you only want the banner on 1 page, then that might be what he is concerned about. Because if you update the template then each page will have that banner.
I've used nucleus before, it was pretty easy to customize, but i don't remember if you can apply different templates to each page. it would just take a little investiagation...
