i am doing a logo in my spare time for an organization in dc...
In case anyone is wondering, Dc is a near diamond shape, with the river cutting it across and down...
Is it too phallic? Does it get the point across?
I am just playing around with ideas.
Any opinions?

the skyline will get lost in small, even medium executions (no homicide pun itended)
Also those from NOVA might take offence to your redesign of their coastline.

myobie, thecolours and the crop atthe tops of the political buildings looks more like middle east architechture....
i say this as i am middle eastern, it actually reminded me of this artist:

i cant read this art but i find the colours and the prints so friikkken coool looking it makes me remember what graphic design is really about andd as zombiewoof said keep banging on it, you are definitely on to something really cool and very new.
i do like the direction but i feel it needs more than just being 1 solid shape of the horizon of the city.
keep going and keep posting your results!!!

Have you played around with incorporating the DC flag? Is that too played out?

yeah, skyline is way to small, will be meaningless at 50%, maybe concentrate on capitol, or put abe in there

What is the organizations purpose?...Imean you have the diamond, no need to reinforce that, let some element of the organizations purpose drive the "modified" coastline.
And Amp, the flag is only played out as a hipster tattoo. Shout out to Mongomery County...my corp. office is just off of Shady Grave Rd. :-) uhhh, I mean Grove.

well, there are some logos that have the coast line marked, so i don't think nova will care
it's actually just an organization that meets in dc to talk about programming...they like the diamond idea, but i wanted to jazz it up
yeah, the detail gets lost small, but it's not as bad as i thought it would be...also, it still have the main shape at small sizes (in other words, i am trying to justify it to myself so i don't have to change it ;)
i am trying one with just the capitol
we will see how it goes

i am liking the 3rd execution with just the capital. but dude make your outlines larger. when will the logo ever be as big as you are picuring it here.

might try and simplify it a bit - shrunken down small, some of that detail will get lost
