that's actually the original Wim Keyzer series title. I got it wrong in my first post.
It's probably not on DVD.

Troosten/Trust... they have actually translated troosten as Consolation because it refers to a Boetius book from the Middle Ages about trustworthyness. That's where the whole idea sprung from. shit.

I wonder what was in that head if not a bright watch on life. Like Shakespeare. Or Dürer, who came up with object-painting. That is amazing.
Believe it or not, i find Shakespeare, Vermeer and Dürer (and the lost portuguese Gil Vicente, writer and artist) the core of what European culture is. Old, but refreshingly new.

yeah, Crouwel - we have one Bosch here at the National Museum in Lisbon. It's a wonderful piece of work. So much detail and the old paint and colouring just takes your breath away. It's worth coming to Lisbon in a weekend just to see it. Most people in Europe come to Lisbon for the beer. Can you fucking imagine that? They get piss drunk within 100 yards of the Temptations... ;)

Come visit. You won't regret it. Also, bring Snuggles - he won't find the Rikjs so boring after visiting ours where some old dudes follow you suspiciously around those big rooms. It's really nice being followed!

yo witt, just found out thta van de schoonheid en de troost is available on vhs, unfortunately 2 tapes are sold out, the rest (8 tapes) you can buy for 90 euro's

i think i have to wait for the dvd - otherwise i'd have to buy a vhs player too - i disposed of the one i had long ago.
