the annual list of the 100 most powerful people in the contemporary art scene this year features, coming in at 100th place, not a person, but google himself.
flikr as online curator? this is mental. what are the implications of such a thing?

curator: A person who manages, administers or organizes a collection - at a museum, library, archive or zoo.
So Flickr would fit the bill...I'm more upset that Bruce Nauman is in the top ten, i can't stand him/his work/anything to do with him.

Lee Bontecou?
thye early metal vaginas, well, they had a charm only a set decorator of Alien could really love- but her comeback work is worthy of this? hard to believe or credit.

I wonder how long it would take to work through that list with a hatchet and a power drill?

is this list normally good or an indication of anything other than the obvious? Excuse my ignorance, but a 'top 100' of anything seems to be an automatic 'ignore'....

the only people who really get worked up about it are the people who are on it. more so the people who used to be on it but aren't any more. i just think it's interesting that a search engine is now a 'person' who has been deemed a 'player' in the art scene. i think it's kind of cool.
