Well its not really a story, but Rancid last night was absolutely amazing in a way that only veteran punk rockers like Tim, Lars and Matt could pull off. Tim's presence on stage is unparalleled. Their execution was near flawless, as they have been touring for the last 4 months straight. All around great show by living legends of punk rock. They have another date here for tonight and I'm thinking about buying a ticket to see them again.

(Oct 12 06, 16:40)it was a.d.i.d.a.s. time korn, their 'nu' sound was about low tuned flappy 5 string bass and high pitch guitar ornaments and boy, they could not reproduce those tricks live back then.. i went for a beer during their part.
Kirk Hammet was making ugly mistakes in solos everyone'd known down to each note.. those really sounded like glitches, not variations (like, being late for a note)
I landed in a pub downtown, sat down at the bar and was about to order when a drink arrived in front of me and a cute blonde on my right went "Hi, I am Michelle".
Suddenly I was glad to have been kicked out :)

Coachella 2001
Really so many stories to tell, but it was mushrooms, vodka and ghb that led to the insanity that weekend.

On vacation me and my girl went to this show. crappy little place ( I think it was the Mason Jar ). My girl got Corey Parks to autograph some shit before the show for me. After the first band the drummer for NP took about an hour duct taping the rebel flag behind his kit and then it was time to rock. The club was all ages so they had to separate the stage in half with some fencing. The place was going nuts, fireworks on stage ( this was before the Great White thing). Chicks making out, people climbing the fence, moshing, fighting.... During one of the mosh fights the bouncer jumped over me and my girl and grabbed to guys at once. It then when I noticed he had sandwiched my girl between the 2 fighting dudes. I Pushed the bouncer and yelled "you;ve got me girl, you've got me girl" Once he noticed that he backed off and was our personal bouncer in the pit the entire night! Afterwards we were drinking in the parking lot with some local punks and when they saw the Towncar come pick us up the yelled "Rich ass punks!" It was classic!!
The next night we went to go see George Clinton in the round on 2 hits of E a piece! We were making out so bad these old black ladies taped us on the sholder and said "get a room". I looked at them and smiled and said "we have one" and continued making out. Those ladies laughed so hard at us whities.
That is one vacation I will never forget

I was at a KROQ weenie Roast years ago and I met Seth Greene in the pit. Helluva a nice guy we had fun the whole concert... He even took me backstage for a bit... While backstage we got to see Mike Dirnt of Green Day fight the Bass Player from Third Eye Blind... Truly surreal... it was a knock down drag out brawl... It started onstage. A beer bottle was thrown against Dirnt's head... Oddly enough they don't break like you see in movies... It just made a sickening thud...

Oasis at Coachella a few years back - i threw a bottle of water at Liam and it hit his legs splashing hime with water... He stopped the song and shouted " throw one more fuckin thing at me and i'll knock you with a one punch black out" - about 20 bottles then got launched at him.
quite funny.
Being a bit over excited at a mates gig i jumped up on the stage and knocked over his keyboard set-up thing and the midi sequencer thing just looped this mental korg/acid noise/beat until he got it all set back up - the crowd went mental to it and he now has it as one of his songs...

As for the actual members of bands, I've always been pretty intimidated by them for some reason. I met Emily Haines and the rest of Metric (got a pic as well) and she's really not as bitchy as ppl believe, and Controller:Controller is awesome too.
Also, my sister and my friend and I were in the front row (by some miracle) for a Nelly Furtado concert a few months back. I didn't even listen to her newer music, but I still felt like I had to be there. The crowd was MASSIVE and I definitely had to jump over fences to get away from the crowds after it was over.

I don't have very many good ones, but my friends and I had to tell this drunken bitch off and refused to let her come to the front by shoving her back. We then proceeded to see her in other concerts and stores around Ottawa in the new few days, so it was awesome because she was clearly scared shitless of us.
There was also this psychotic guy who kept attacking people while crowd-surfing, and I got badly bruised from the concert bouncers (or whatever they're called) who kept jumping on top of the people in the front (which included me) to reach out and grab the douchebag in the back. He somehow came back into the concert about 4 times until the bouncers finally took him out somewhere for good.

traut..
My wife +2 others had to leave the cat poer show here in portland because they ate too many pot brownies. 1 girl was sleeping, neck tossed back of the chair snoring. My wife and the other where histarically laughing at god knows what when the passed out girl wakes up and gets all paranoid they're laughing at her. They left about 3 songs into the set.

Descendents at Reading Festival. First time I saw them live, and they were absolutely amazing. Then '3 colours red' came on after them and said over the speaker 'Now for some proper rock!', we all pissed our pants and threw oranges at them. Those were the days.

nearly forgot.
Meeting all of Sonic Youth on the street in Dublin before an outdoor gig when I was 16. "Hi, I'm Lee Ronaldo" best shit ever. Then meeting Kim inside the gig to continue the chat.
Seeing Nirvana for a second time. Actually no, that second gig was on the night he killed himself. what a waste of cash.
