Anyone use this script from Matt's script archive?
I keep getting an error on the recipients line, it specifys domains, but I only want to specify one email address to recieve the form output?

I don't use it, and nor should you. It's not safe. I'd recommend looking into a PHP or ASP soloution.
I don't think formmail has been updated since 2002 or something.

moth, you have an easy to use PHP script you would recommend?
- moth0
Not off hand.
I build my own - and they're not generally reusable.
Try hotscripts - but be careful.

thanks moth, I just built a real basic one and I get an error saying the @ symbol that appears in my email addy is unexpected?

lets see yr code
- radar0
here you go, sorry
- acescence0
the single quotes around the email address aren't proper single ticks like 'these'
- radar0
that did work, now it hangs on line 15
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /nfs/cust/8/58/12/621858/web/pro... in /nfs/cust/8/58/12/621858/web/pro... on line 15

there should be no white space or output (incl html) before using the header command - put the php bit before the html tag and you should be good
- acescence0
oh, that's cuz yr script is on a page w html. you don't need all that html stuff on there, just the php.
it can't modify headers because you've already written the part of the page with the headers
- acescence0
too fast

:D

so, I stripped the html out, and I still get this error http://www.uptownclt.com/process…
was I supposted to move the header info somewhere?
Here is the code again

Ok so I'm trying to create a simple email script that will send the content of a form to my email address.
MT supplies me with formmail.pl and recommends that I use it, but I'm not so sure.
A while back I wrote my own php email script, but my account got suspended by MT because too many spammers were using that script to do header injection or something I don't really understand.
What email script should I use? Anything out there that's easy for a non-php whiz?

I've got super simple php on i can send you. html form page hits the php page that will send the form. I added the fix for the header injection protection, don't know if it works cuz i don't know how to test it. if you need required fields, the page I have uses JS to check for them.
That work?

Thanks that'd be rad joyride. As long as I can customize it so that the email address remains hidden to spambots in the php.
- joyride0
yeah, good point forgot about the protect from spambots. should be a quick ad. I'll email it to you today or tomorrow. pretty basic
