what was wrong with the other thread? you still need to make it clear that the user's supposed to hover over the images to navigate.

crit my slacks... do they make me look fat and sassy...

collection 5 isn't nearly as intriguing as 1-4...
... i like the natural unrehersed feel of those collections - it seems like you were finding people in their own environments etc...
... collection 5 feels like you were at some art gallery opening and taking pictures of random people at the gathering...
... i suppose the 'people' in the shots of 5 aren't as engaging as people in their element as collection 1-4...
... now... if I had seen collection 5 w/out seeing 1-4... my critique would be much diff...

I hope crouwel that you are being an ass on purpose. ;)
- Crouwel0
i am an honest straightforward ass.
like an artificially inseminated cow.
straight up, no bull.
- PonyBoy0
sheeeeeit...
... at least crouwel bothered to give an opinion/crit...
... NT is lacking 'in this area' lately which is why I haven't posted a 'crit me' in MONTHS.

?
I'll crit you, if you like, ponyboy - i'm finding it much easier to do that today than I am doing my own work :)
- Nairn0
(personally, I can't crit photographs as I have absolutely zero expertise or knowledge in this area. 'nice pics' is hardly useful)
- Crouwel0
you don't have to be an expert.
if you are eating crap food at a restaurant are you not going to say something just because you are no expert?
- mr_snuggles0
when did people lose the ability to judge things for themselves? god, and honestly, most of these cats come here, ask for a crit and then you never see them again or you've have never seen them in the first place...
I feel fucking used...and most of the time the work is so horrendous, you don't even know where to begin...
sorry, dude, I'm not referring to yer photo's and will get outta your thread so people can 'crit' away...

you guys are awesome.. thanks again.. also you dont have to be an expert to have an opion.. I think that the general feeling in important feedback.. also #3 from gallery3 is noware near outta focus I shot that with a hasselblad at F11 with proper focus.. I have been doing this for ten years and I didnt ask for technical advise.
but thanks for your peceptions.. it may look burred because of the action in the shot and the 30 sec. exposure.

I always assume people here ask these questions on a professional level.
Sure, I can make up my own mind what I feel are good pictures - but beyond that, I have no idea what distinguishes valuable, commercial work.
- Nairn0
oh.
'nice pics', then.

damn! dan busta! a name i haven't heard since skating back in the day with john robinson and shane nelson and the rest of the minneapolis crew..oh and also good old daily bread mag.
I would say all in all the photos are quality. some are REALLY nice, some could be taken out. I would sort of agree with the comments people have already made about gallery 5 not fitting so much with the rest of the portfolio, but with that said, i think those shots are really strong and shouldn't be taken out. maybe just mixed in somewhere? what the hell do i know though. keep on keepin' on.

Hot Spots for your navigation are too wide. They stretch all the way to the photo. I find that problematic. Besides that, I wish your work were presented much bigger.
I would say either optimize the site for a 1024 screen or find some way increase the size of the images. Can't see much detail, makes me squint. That email badge at the top also seems kinda stupid and trendy. I'd lose it.
Also- I like when photographers sites have a lightbox where you can pick any photo and jump right to it. Gives the user more control over what they're looking at. Feels more interactive, less boring to scroll through one by one. Just my two cents.
