Hmmm i can't help but think of my kitten Mojo that died alone in a gutter of worms on the brain... but not too sure if thats what your looking for.
Other than that besides the obvious ie) Mr mojo rising and austin powers i think of a guy in a a dark navy velvet suit with gold stars waiting for a bus that went out of service 43years before.

This probably won't help either but Mojo to me is a great play by Jez Butterworth that I had a role in. Also made into a movie with Andy Serkis (King Kong/Gollum).

mojo is, in the louisiana tradition, a lucky charm, but it's got voodoo qualities, so it's a little bit scary.
like my uncle used to wear his teacher's teeth around his neck in a little bag after he sifted them out of his creamated remains. they were buddhists, but same thing.
in cuba it's similar, but more of an abstraction - not an actual talisman. it has sexy connotations because it'a also a spice for food and a sort of call-to-rumba.
