I disconnect and everything on my ipod is gone. This happened to my girlfriends ipod a week ago on a different computer with the new itunes. anyone else have this problem. F'n weird.

i'm not sure how many of u notice, but after installing itunes 7, my pc become slower and 'heavier'. Other program works fast without itunes on. *sigh..

after installing itunes 7 - when a song changes my computer halts and then moves on when iTunes has decided to keep going too. Plus the scroll bar doesn't work on the iTunes interface :|
So annoying.
That sucks about your ipod man - it happened to me but I didn't have anything I didn't have in my CD collection.

It's a 2 year old ipod. not sure what generation. The playlists erased from my ipod and in itunes, but when norton scans it, it shows all the mp3s still there. I'm trying a volme recover to see if I can get all the mp3's off and then restore the ipod. What a crock of shit. I never had any problems before.

Bummer about your iPod man, I think everyone in here (or with an ipod) has a similar story, happened to me a few months ago, the Pod didn't even register when plugging into my laptop, it would only charge(kind of felt like a time capsule) so I had to restore!!!
Hey muidlatif I have noticed that my programmes run slow, but I've just got a MacBook and after transfering Creative Suite, all programmes infact over from my old G4 they all run slow and the techy guy at work recons that I need to update to CS2 in order for my programmes to run normal (apparently something to do with the dual processor??!)

does anyone know of a free program like podsalvage?

It happened to me before too. I had to change the default "auto-sync" setting. Basically, that's where everything on your iPod library is matched to exactly what's in your iTunes library. So if you have nothing in your iTunes library, it wipes your iPod clean!

I think you can change that setting in iTunes under edit/preferences/general and there's a check box you can uncheck to change that.

Here's a helpful link:

i've had to pull all my music off using the terminal because itunes decided not to recognize it anymore.

Hi - This just happened to my girlfriends iPod as well (4GB Nano) - happened without any prompting, after she installed iTunes 7 (PC) -
If you're going to download iTunes, make sure you have the auto-sync function turned off. I did this for mine and no problems thus far (knocks on wood...)
Luckily, we've got all of our tracks backed up. :-)
