one NTer (good lad) whose name escapes me for the mo is a resident. keep bumping.
it's a crazy place beautiful. defo go to the bluelagoon. load up on duty free as everyone seems to get pissed at home and thencomes out at midnight cos the booze is so damned exxpensive

3 days aint much if you wanna see things up here, but I will advise you to rent a car at the airport and do all your driving yourself.
Take the Blue Lagoon on the way to Reykjavik from the airport.. Them you save a couple hours and it's on the way. Drive the "Golden circle", maps are everywhere.. Can't get lost.
If you have the time I really suggest Jökulsárlón in the south east of the country
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jök…It's a long drive but all worth it.
Thats were I would go if i had 3 days. If you are here in the weekend, check the nightlife too. Crazy / Fun / Insane all at the same time.
