Crescent Street, Boulevard Saint-Laurent and Saint-Denis are pretty good areas for restaurants, clubs and night life

First time there 21-25 this month. Very excited. Only 2 free days/nights to check out the city though so I need to prioritize. Anything "must-see"?

must see...good question. is there?...and how about getting around by bike, i might try to fly mine out

montreal is relatively small so it's easy to walk around and see everything.
focus on booze, babes and food.

montreal isn't small...
take time to soak it in... great place.

The church you were saying was the St-Joseph Oratory:
Montreal is a jazz city, there's restaurants/bars that usually have sick jazz band playing. (it would have been nice if you made it in the jazz festival)
There's obviously more to see than churches and jazz, Im from Mtl, so I could always give you a quick tour if youd like.

bike is fine.
we stayed in a cute apt on
the outskirts of latin quarter. about
a 10-15 min to bars, restaurants

hey, a local montrealer here, in fact, i designed the aforementioned madeinmtl. Good vegetarian restaurants include ChuChai on St. Denis and a great venue/bar/restaurant is Casa Del Popolo or Cafe Esperenza on St. Laurent. Feel free to drop me a line...

and given yr initial request, I would stay away from crescent, its a dirty, sleazy street. heh. Stick to the plateau and Mile End. Great shows and great food with much less pretension. cheers, have fun!
