The church you were saying was the St-Joseph Oratory:
Montreal is a jazz city, there's restaurants/bars that usually have sick jazz band playing. (it would have been nice if you made it in the jazz festival)
There's obviously more to see than churches and jazz, Im from Mtl, so I could always give you a quick tour if youd like.
