I've seen sketch up before somehwre, before google owned it.
I dont remember liking it so much.... that this is dope! and free? hell yah... quick way of sketching some 3d ideas.
one question though..... does it export something like dxf file or something? for import into a pro 3d application.

off hand i can't remember what the price tag was before google bought it,
but i did download the demo a long time ago, before google's involvment, and from what i can remember, the price was very high..
like high enough to make photoshop look cheap.thats what i remember anyhow...

So I have someone's full copy of the Pro version and SketchUp is actually pretty sweet. Very easy to use, fun, and the tutorials aren't tedious and boring like most other tutorials that come with apps.

we are doing some banners for them and one of the guys was just here doing a short tut. pretty sweet app
