Oh, and make sure you are in Director.

i wouldn't get anything less than 1080p, but you're going to pay at least 5k, closer to 10.

we have all infocus projectors at the museum, seem to be good quality, though i don't have anything to actually compare them to!

prepare your purse. lamps burn quickly. as hell.
- mrdobolina0
like how quickly?
- acescence0
1000-2000 hours, but it's gradual degradation, so it really depends on when you decide it looks crappy enough to replace

it depends on how you use it and move it around, clean it, etc. there's an hour limit (it varies) beyond which they can fail unexpectadly or keep going. where i work the lamp burned 2 times in 2 years, but there's at least 10 different people (some are known mastodonts) using it so it's hard to say. but i'd say 1 lamp every 2 years ration is not absurd.

ration=ratio

i have an infocus projector at home. it's been 2-3yrs and it blew the bulb once and had to replace. other than that, it's all good. but during day time, it's a bit hard to watch. so you need to get a thick curtain to shut off light from outside.
i have it hooked up to the cable box and dvd.

get something that has at least 1024x768 resolution & 2000ansi lumens.
you'll hate anything less than that.
When your ready to buy, I found the best deals at b&h. (plus no taxes if your outside new york)
