It's only fitting. They're childish metaphors in the first place.

Pfft! That's nothing. You should see some Christians talking about this stuff (including me):

Many more highly disappointing products in there.
Plus - I have to say the link to the Pastor Fred Phelps thing there on the left ( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ea… ).... do not confuse that with Christianity. He leaves out EVERYTHING and choses what he wants to damn people with. That is not the voice of a Christian - it is the background static of an angry hate filled man.
You want to know what Jesus preached? It was something about this:

It's a shame that people trivialize such powerful passages of scripture like this one. The implications of Ephesians 6 are profound with regard to the ubiquitous spiritual reality which surrounds us and the impact this dimension has on the lives of Christ followers.
This "merchandise" is silly and misses the point of such a profound metaphor.
They need more Matthew Henry, methinks:

but yeah, if i was truly religious i'd be ashamed of this garbage.

It is noteworthy that all you see here at NT are threads pointing out the foolish things that professing Christians do [and which never represent actual Biblical Christianity]. Kirk Chameron's bananas, Holy PJ's, etc...
I guess it helps people to compartmentalize and make unwarranted generalizations. Rather than deal with the real issues and challenges presented in scripture.

good point, flagellum. i guess it is up to you though, as i don't see many others being so dedicated to their (religious) beliefs here.
- flagellum0
I don't care for religion, Teeuwen. It causes wars.
We need Jesus.
- flagellum0
and with that... goodnight everyone.

(Sep 7 06, 17:13)Having spoken to quite a few NTers via email, those who are (followers of Jesus at least) find it hard to voice their opinion lest they be labeled retarded or just told to F off. That's probably a major contributing factor.
Flaggellum is right - it's not about religion, it's about Jesus. :)

(Sep 7 06, 17:17)that's a better motivation. jesus was a nice bloke, and a good inspiration to many.
so as long as that does not make people smash each others heads to pieces like religion does..
well then i am down.
