where can i find such a script , Royal Barbness?
- rafalski0
I will, Pascii, thanks.. actually, font management is far superior to windows, it's the non-smoothed font display that boothers me. Also mac web browsers have issues with non core-latin characters - haven't seen such problems on windows for ages.

---------------start here: i am off for work, but will try to find the one i use when i get there. or, nerd out and write your owm.

Onyx repairs permissions.
I used it when my macbook kept refusing to restart, showing a beach ball on a clear bluescreen instead :)

not sure if these tips have been said.
1) while using safari, ichat and i think some other apps, if you do apple-control-d while hovering over a word it gives you a small dictionary for that word. pretty cool.
2) anytime on your mac, you can hit apple-tab and tab quickly to other programs. hit apple-tab and the icons for all the open apps comes up, while holding the apple you can hit the tab button and tab to the app you want to use. simple.
enjoy.

I'd run permissions every week or after an install of a new app. For an in depth disk utility, Diskwarrior is an ace. - norton ruins macs!
I also suggest Quicksilver:http://quicksilver.b...
and learn how to use automater for automated tasks:

also here is a tip i use.
i have a mac at work and at home and share itunes music from both computers. sometimes i buy from the one at work and sometimes i buy from the one at home.
to keep track of which came from which i color code the folders in the itunes library file on my harddrive.
one color for home, one color for work for the files that are only one one computer, not both.
blue color means the files are on both.
didn't do this before and i was always having duplicate files in my list and it got messy.
