actually are any of you guys coming to town web guys?
web/flash/css hybrid type shit
the place i came from is actually hiring, and until now i would have said stay the hell away, but, the cd i used to work for has left (who was really bad), as has one of the project managers that was really bad. they pay well but are in northbrook which is about a 30-45 minute drive from the city maybe?!? from the north side much less. let me know. you might not want to uh... drop my name if you go there though for the interview. heh heh.

Actually yah, mostly hybrid stuff; i don't know enough actionscript to call myself a flash designer but i write enough css and whatnot to choke a medium-sized horse. How would you rate that company in other ways?

the company does have some good talent there, and the other designers i worked with were very cool.
some of the b.s. things were that you had to seriously put in 40 hours... exactly at least per week. you had to keep detailed accounts of what you did each day.
xyz client. 15 minutes yada yada, 5 minutes doing yada yaday. took about 15-30 minutes every night before you left to add everything in to the system of what you did. kind of a pain but it got you out of working for hte last 30 minutes of every day.
the male boss is SUPER high energy and actually runs through the office, which kinda puts you on edge cause when you hear him running towards the design department you're like 'oh fuck... hope he's not running to me.'
some of the work sucked but some was really cool.
and, it had an in house print shop so you could print your shit off in back once in a while and have some real nice prints of your work.
also there was a warehouse in back for the print shop. on down days you could go in the back and it was big enough to hide a bit and catch a 30 minute nap. haha.
part of me would now recommend the place, but part of me wouldn't. i guess it boils down to what kind of a worker you are. i'm more laid back, like to surf, like to fuck around when i can, but i've never been late with deadlines. they actually said i could no longer come to nt. kinda sucked.
if they're still hiring when you get to town i'll let you know.
i still talk to the other designers there and they say it's getting better after the cd and pm left/got asked to leave.
