when batch saving jpg-s in photoshop it still prompts the jpeg compression level window on each file. is it somehow possible to avoid that? it's quite annoying...
using photoshop CS2

supress warnings or something or override save command iunno. something in your batch preferences when youre about to run it should fix that.

i have checked and unchecked all those prefs separately and all together, doesnt help

I've never had that - I take it your including a save for web in the action you're using to work the batch process? I would have thought that took care of all prompts and shit...

it only seems to do if you've never saved that file on you computer before.
ie if i download an image, open it, save, it asks me for the compression setting. I'm sure it does it all the time when you 'save as' though?!

same here.

how do you batch process save for web?!
- kyl30
create action save for web - > apply to folder x

You might find it easier setting this up in Image Ready, which has a workflow and interface optimised for preparation for the web, and (i think) a few batch features that Photoshop doesnt have.

create your own actions. if the supress warnings thing isn't working, tape down the enter key.
the intern days have found me processing endless shit like this.

i've had this before. you can get around it without tape or a paper weight. has to do with the format of original image. i think using "save as copy" solved my problem.

In Image Ready you would use the 'Save Optimised as' option...

i believe its just down to using 'save for web' as i think someone else said.

save for web is also an option, but i want to add author and copyright to my pictures, not only for web but also archive

You might want to look at an image catalog program such as iView Media Pro, for managing and embedding IPTC and custom annotations (including the Adobe sets), and can batch resize, create galleries, contact sheets, image lists etc..
