It's been a while since my last drama post. The company I worked for sent me to Texas to rock out for 3 weeks. When I came back the company folded. The owner left saying "every man for himself" and we didnt' have a job anymore. He wasn't paying taxes for the year that I worked there and this is the second job I've had in Denver that ended horribly. I give up Denver, you win.
I need to get back to Chicago asap. There is a special lady who will be the future Mrs. Dubs and I guess Chicago is home to me now that I can see it so far away.
Good news is I redid my portfolio site: http:www.michaelwaite.net
lates.

jesus christ man - sorry. You got royally shafted it would seem...by not one...but two companies.
Still - at least you got a trip to hawaii out of it.
Good luck man...get thee back to chicago and the lady!

I just ran out the back door and shook my fist at downtown denver for ya.
Sorry to hear man, good luck with everything - if you need anything call Jevad.

Sorry to hear, man. I hate to be the jerk that says "what doesn't kill ya..." but I've been in your shoes twice now (with dot-bombs) and both experiences turned out for the best in the end.
Hope things work better for you in Chicago. My heart is in the midwest.

Well you are all invited to the wedding if it happens.
I need advice on how to find a good company to work for. Craigslist ads arn't cutting it and I don't know if I should just start emailing random companies directly. Headhunters won't touch me because I live out of state. Meh.
Before I leave we'll have a send off party involving too much guinness!

click the search Jobs link
put in your keywords n state, select from the list, little easier then going to each of the main job sites

Just chalk it up as events that are leading you in the right direction. Obviously it's just not in the books for you to be there. Get back to Chicago and kick kOna in the bizzallz... he'll be the guy wearing the size medium Old Navy polo with the collar popped up and the front anchored down by a Nintendo game controller belt buckle.

Raised by a single mom and born in denver ... there is a reason my family lives successful in Florida. Denver has always had a shady job market. I think money has a geography and the fault line crosses right under Denver.
In closing, I grad this summer and am moving to Boulder.
:) Peace mutha effer .. thanks for the job.

hey Denverites... what's the 'main' industry there in which you work for?...
... here, in Phoenix... it seems like it's nothing but Land Developers...
... just curious how other 'big' cities in the states outside of Chicago, LA, San Fran and NYC do as far as the 'kind' of clients they serve...
... if any of that makes sense :)

I am a big believer in circumstance. 90% of my career/business has been due to this (first step being let go at a large arch firm). It's all been for the better, though.
Good luck with the move. Hopefully you'll look back on this with the same light.

hard to say ponyboy, the clients I've been working for range from outdooor companies and resorts to commuications and entertainment, beverages, really a mixed bag

haha... point5 is totally right. hit me up when you get to town. there are a bunch of cool nters in chicago and i'm sure they'll start putting their feelers out to help you find something.
last time i checked the creative hotlist had a fuckload of gigs. also, shoot me an email and i'll forward you an email from a talent agency i worked with downtown. they were looking for guys just last week. i have a full-time gig though but i might know of some places.
good luck man. chicago will go easy on you. as long as you stay out of boys town, that part of town will straight up anal rape you. :)
