hey stubru, does belgium allow marriage or civil unions?
-sputnik-
(Aug 28 06, 12:40)Yes. Same sex-marriage here is not different from a heterosexual marriage.
- pepsi0
yeah, that's why I said usually ;)
- cphunk0
add canada to the list of countries that allow marriages etc.
agreed on some comments. hard to get tone here sometimes... however:
fags? on the beach? with hot girls? leaving more for you? all with gardens..............
as much as.
it's odd the parallels between current sexual discrimination and racism when u look at stuff really. it's fairly sad - even in countries that're progressive in their outlooks.

I don't think that gays are better designers. Creativity has nothing to do with sexual preferences, it's the way you can express yourself that makes you a good (or bad) designer, not who you love or sleep with. I think.
- pepsi0
I noticed in a ad agency I worked at, the two gays there teamed up together to bounce out the other designers. I'm afraid.

I've had 3 bad experiences from gay men in my life, that's why i'm very curious. I felt as if all gay men were against me for some reason.

(Aug 28 06, 12:47)Yeah, sure. Belgium may have a fairly progressive image concerning ethical issues like gay marriage and euthanasia but on the other hand racism is getting out of hand here. So, not as progressive as we like to be.

the race and religion issues in europe are getting scary :(

Gay is not the new black. Slavery? There's no paralell for that. Theres a huge difference. There are circles of people where not being gay is labelled homophobic. And even here on NT someone even thinks being gay is an advantage in projecting a creative self image.
Dont buy into the brokeback idealism myth so easily. Hedonism and self loathing are bigger components or motivators for homosexuality than love. Don't kid yourself. Monogamy is extremely uncommon. Playing the discrimination card was just a means to an end. a) Legal & Tax benefits inherent in marraige and b) the "normalizaion" agenda.
There's no comparison to centuries of slavery and zero human rights for black people of the past.Realize: gay people can discriminate againt non gay people too. And many of them are in powerful positions. ie: canadian human rights court justices.

(Aug 28 06, 13:03)True, very true. But do mind, scranscom, I didn't out myself because I think "being gay is an advantage in projecting a creative self image" (honestly I'm not that creative as I would like to be). I just outed here on NT today to have another point of view in this thread, to have a more serious discussion instead of some homophobic jokes.

I felt discriminated against by gays in the past but they were still nice.
- moldero0
wow that is a BIG DEAL!!
jk.
who cares.

i once again apologize if i have offended anyone here. seriously, i didn't mean it.

"Hedonism and self loathing are bigger components or motivators for homosexuality than love."
This statement is flat out ignorant :).
Straight people have just the same amount of people that believe in a hedonistic approach to life (how about swingers groups, party girls&boys, and promiscuity??? drugs alcohol..... etc etc etc), and just the same amount are self-loathing.
Neither of those things MAKE you a sexuality... especially considering the amount of species in the world which have biological gayness. Who REALLY knows why someone ends up being gay or straight, but if you use nature as an example, it doesn't seem like it's a flat out choice because most organisms generally don't possess the atribute of "choice".
Interesting sociological/biological discussion however.
